Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Projects

A leading international energy-focused organization is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead and manage its multidisciplinary engineering function across renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring technical excellence, engineering governance, and successful project delivery throughout the full project lifecycle — from early-stage development and feasibility to EPC, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Departmental Leadership

  • Lead and manage Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Geological engineering teams

  • Establish and implement engineering standards, methodologies, and QA/QC frameworks

  • Provide technical validation and final review of engineering concepts and designs

  • Support senior management in investment evaluations and risk mitigation strategies

Project Development & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee conceptual design, system sizing, and energy modeling activities

  • Support permitting, grid interconnection, and regulatory approval processes

  • Drive technical optimization and value engineering of Solar PV and BESS projects

  • Validate energy yield assessments and technical assumptions

Project Execution & Governance

  • Supervise engineering deliverables across feasibility, FEED, EPC, and commissioning stages

  • Act as the primary engineering interface with EPC contractors and consultants

  • Ensure compliance with international standards, grid requirements, and HSE regulations

  • Implement structured design review and engineering control procedures

Technical Due Diligence & Commercial Support

  • Conduct technical due diligence for project acquisitions

  • Identify engineering risks and technical constraints

  • Support tender evaluations, contractor selection, and project finance processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)

  • Minimum 10 years of professional engineering experience, including leadership roles

  • Proven experience in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects

  • Strong knowledge of Solar PV, BESS technologies, MV/HV systems, and grid interconnection

  • Experience with energy modeling tools such as PVSyst, WindPro, or equivalent

  • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills

  • Fluent English (mandatory)

This is a senior Client-side role focused on implementing and continuously improving a structured QA/QC and HSE control system across large-scale construction projects.
