GIS Analyst

Position Summary

Within the Smart Gas Grid Transformation Project, the GIS Technical Assistant will support the daily office activities of the GIS team by performing data processing, map creation, quality assurance, and documentation tasks, while ensuring high technical accuracy and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Data processing, management, and updating of layer structures in ArcGIS Pro

• Entering incoming survey data into the system and performing initial QA/QC checks

• Editing attribute tables, shapefiles, and geodatabase objects

• Preparing technical reports, tables, and documentation (Excel, Word)

• Providing technical and methodological support to the GIS team’s daily operations

• Contributing to data preparation in accordance with Esri Utility Network requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in GIS Intermediate or higher-level proficiency in ArcGIS Pro

• Strong skills in data processing, filtering, formulas, and structuring in Excel

• Understanding of GIS data models, coordinate systems, and attribute structures

• Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity office environment

• Experience in infrastructure, utilities, mapping, or field data processing is an advantage

• Fluency in Azerbaijani and English (written and spoken); Russian is an advantage.

• Higher education in Geodesy, Geography, Engineering, GIS, or IT

• Experience with Esri Utility Network and data modeling

• Ability to work with large datasets
