Field Engineer

As we expand our operations in Azerbaijan, we are seeking a Telecommunication & Connectivity Specialist with strong knowledge of telecom and IoT connectivity technologies to ensure reliable network performance and stable device communications within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Instrumentation Expert is responsible for end-to-end technical ownership of smart metering and field devices within large-scale utility transformation programs. The role provides strategic and technical leadership across smart meters, mechanical meters, retrofit devices, sensors, EVCs, and related field hardware, ensuring alignment with program objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term scalability across gas and other utility projects. Requirements Own the overall smart metering and field devices strategy across AMI and smart grid programs. Define technical standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria for meters, retrofits, sensors, and EVCs. Lead design, IDP, rollout, and scale-up activities related to metering and field devices. Ensure seamless integration with HES, MDMS, GIS, Billing, WFM, and analytics platforms. Oversee pilots, proof-of-concepts, and field trials to validate technical readiness. Act as the primary technical interface with OEMs, system integrators, and technology vendors. Support technical evaluations, RFP responses, and procurement decision-making. Represent the metering domain in technical design committees and governance forums. Ensure compliance with metrology regulations, certification requirements, and cybersecurity standards. Mentor and guide AMI engineers and field device specialists. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline. 8–12+ years of experience in utility, AMI, or smart infrastructure programs. Strong experience in gas metering; multi-utility exposure (electricity, water) preferred. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) architecture and solution design. Metering standards and protocols (DLMS/COSEM, IEC standards). Communication technologies including NB-IoT, RF Mesh, PLC, and cellular. Meter firmware lifecycle management, tamper detection, and cybersecurity considerations Professional working proficiency in Azerbaijani and English (Russian is an advantage) Why Esyasoft Holding? TeleCommunication Specialist supports the TeleCommunication and Network Lead in designing and implementing the AMI communication strategy. The role ensures stable connectivity for smart meters, retrofit devices, sensors, and EVCs by validating NB-IoT/LoRaWAN/USSD coverage, assessing NB-IoT band availability, coordinating with telecom operators, and supporting field teams.
