Chief Accountant

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical skills and a proven track record of financial management. The Chief Accountant will oversee all aspects of our company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the company's financial systems and processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting;

• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders accurately and in a timely manner;

• Manage external and internal reporting deadlines effectively, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and financial reporting requirements;

• Oversee and organize the bookkeeping, accounting, period end closure processes, and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements;

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payment and collection of invoices;

• Preparation and submission of reports to tax and other government agencies;

• Responding to incoming letters from state (Tax and other) institutions;

• Stay informed of evolving tax regulations and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax structures;

• Navigate Double Taxation Agreements and suggest optimal tax structures;

• Collaborate with the 1C team to analyze business requirements and customize the accounting software accordingly;

• Prepare detailed technical documentation outlining the company's accounting processes, workflows, and system requirements;

• Provide guidance and support to the 1C team during the implementation and testing phases;

• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital;

• Control of salary calculation and other payroll activities;

• Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement;

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements;

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance;

• Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes;

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and safeguard company assets;

• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in accounting and finance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;

• Proven experience (3 years) in a senior accounting or finance role, with a focus on accounting and taxation;

• Fluent knowledge of Azerbaijani, and Russian languages, English - intermediate

• ACCA, CPA or equivalent certification preferred;

• PMS (Peşəkar Mühasib sertifikatı) is preffered;

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, local tax legislation, and reporting standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software (1C) and advanced Excel skills;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams;

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities;

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively;

• Leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and develop a team.
